2025 Spring Cleanup Guide

Yard Debris Collection

Residential Yard Debris collection takes place Island-wide the week of Monday, May 5 and Monday, May 19 as part of our annual Spring Cleanup. Place your yard debris materials curbside by 7 A.M. on the Monday of each week. Drivers have the full week to collect yard debris (including Saturday), so your collection may not be on your regular cart day.

*Please Note: Drivers will only visit your area for Spring Cleanup once per week. That is why materials must be curbside by 7 A.M. on Monday.

Small amounts of garden waste and produce can be placed in your compost cart (green cart).

Excess Waste Collection

We’re making it easier for residents to dispose of excess waste during Spring Cleanup!

Simply place properly sorted waste material curbside in clear plastic bags, rigid containers, or bundled together by 7 A.M. on your regular waste (black) cart collection during Spring Cleanup. The two-container or item limit for excess waste is waived for waste (black) cart collection during Spring Cleanup.

Waste Collection Guidelines

  • Materials must be less than 50 lbs and 4 feet in any dimension.
  • Larger material can be cut, bundled, and tied to meet guidelines.
  • Solid coloured bags or blue bags are NOT accepted.
