WASTE WATCH IN ACTION: Photo Contest Winners
Posted on: 2011-10-20

Earlier this year, IWMC invited Islanders to share their participation in the Waste Watch Program by capturing efforts for a photo contest.

Thank you to everyone for forwarding such terrific photos.  From the photos received, the following winners were randomly chosen:

VIDEO PROS AVU for their "At Work" submission of a photo of employees involved in their business's cardboard recycling initiative.  Great work, Video Pros AVU!

CHAD FORD for his "At Home" photo of carts placed for collection in a cart coral.  Chad is quite a 'green' and resourceful teenage entrepreneur.  He collects pallets and other available reusable and unwanted bits of wood then builds cart corals (among other products) to help earn spending money while attending school.

STUDENTS FROM GRADE 3 (ROOM 3F) - GLEN STEWART SCHOOL for their "At School" photo of a child engaged in a Waste Watch sorting game.  This school, like many others here on PEI, encourages good sorting behaviours by the students as part of their overall commitment to protecting the environment.
