Schools across Canada are challenged to collect as many plastic shopping bags as possible during Earth Week - April 18 to 22.  The contest is open to Grades 8 and under.

Registered schools must take bags to their local Walmart's Customer Service area for recycling between April 24 and 29.

Prizes are awarded provincially for the school that collects the most plastic shopping bags (per student population).  Prizes are $3000 for first, $2000 for second, and $1000 for third place.  Other bonuses are also included in this challenge.

For schools with students in grades higher than Grade 8, student population is based on Grade 8 and below.  Only students in these grades should participate in the contest.

Information  can be found by visiting here or by clicking on the PDF below.  Please be sure to read the rules and get started collecting bags right away!

Schools must register no later than Wednesday, April 20.

What would your school do with $3000?  Here's a great opportunity to celebrate Earth Week, help the environment, and have fun while helping your school win some great prizes.
