WHEN YOU MISS YOUR COLLECTION Posted on: 2015-01-28
In the winter, weather is a factor. Your collection may be cancelled if driving conditions are bad, or you may not be able to bring your material to curb if your driveway is not cleared on a regular collection day.
Here's some information:
If collection is a 'go' but you missed it, or didn't get your cart out on time, IWMC suggests you use the Excess Material Guideline. What this means is that you can place extra material out for your NEXT collection. Rigid containers, like an old garbage can, can be used, or you can use bags. For extra compost, use paper yard & garden bags. For extra waste, clear, transparent plastic bags must be used.
If, on the other hand, your material was at curb by 7:00 a.m. and the driver missed it, it is important that you contact Customer Service within 2 working days.
If collection is cancelled due to poor weather, we make every effort to inform customers. Our website is updated immediately. We also have a facebook account (IWMC PEI) and updates are made as developments occur. Customers can also call 1-888-280-8111 where a pre-recorded message can provide cancellation details.
When cancellations occur, every attempt is made to provide collection on the next available Saturday, but this is not always the case. Please refer to the tools available (website, facebook, or our toll-free number) for details.
