PLANT A ROW - GROW A ROW PROGRAM
Posted on: 2018-08-16

Gardeners, did you know that extra produce from your gardens can be donated to a food bank or soup kitchen?

Almost anything grown at home can be donated--from tomatoes, rhubarb, strawberries, to apples.  Some charities even make preserves from donations, so don't be too quick to throw away overgrown cucumbers!

Please contact a food bank prior to donating to determine hours of operation  and storage requirements.

The Plant a Row - Grow A Row program is a terrific way to enjoy gardening while helping to get fresh locally grown food on the tables of families in need.

A list of food banks and soup kitchens can be found on the link below.
